Historical photograph of work in the Bohemian Forest

We opened Restaurant Stodola for you in the summer of 2021 to introduce South Bohemian cuisine with a modern twist. We are surrounded by the Lipno countryside and the Bohemian Forest landscape, which inspire us every day. Seasonality and fresh ingredients are the most important elements of our cooking.

Just like our recipes, the interior also refers to the history of the Bohemian Forest. You can discover the old Bohemian Forest of the early twentieth century in photographs by Josef Seidel. His panoramas and scenes from the lives of local people create an authentic backdrop to a time when timber was harvested in the dense forests and floated along the famous Schwarzenberg Canal.

our concept

Come and taste modern gastronomy rooted in traditional South Bohemian cuisine. Chef Michal Hruda has assembled a team of excellent cooks who prepare delicious traditional sauces and their modern interpretations.

“Old Bohemian recipes have always been among my favourites. The scent of freshly picked herbs and my grandmother's honest cooking. To pass these experiences on to our guests, my team and I created a modern interpretation of South Bohemian recipes, and I believe our guests will keep coming back.”
